Algae skin benefits: Tip of the Day 9-9-22
Algae is buzzing in the skincare industry because of the vast range of benefits it offers. From improving acne & wrinkles, to hydrating and fighting discoloration, algae is proving to be a skincare superstar.

Researchers say algae also has abilities to help protect skin against the sun. As if that isn't enough, algae is rich in antioxidants, vitamin B, magnesium, zinc, and detoxifying minerals that can help to unclog pores.
Some common species of algae include kelp, seaweed, and spirulina. But experts believe there are over 800,000 species of algae. Algae products works on any skin type, but it's recommended to test patch a small area of skin to make sure you're not allergic.
I personally believe all of the benefits of algae make for a powerhouse eye cream. Anything that hydrates, fights darkness, brightens, and fights wrinkles belongs in an eye cream (in my humble opinion).
Bonus tip: Algae can also be ingested in the form of supplements, and found in foods like salmon and shrimp!
