Sticking to the night skin routine: Tip of the day 6-16-22
Updated: Jun 16, 2022
At the end of the day, it’s tempting to half-do your skincare routine (or not do it at all). That’s why skin experts recommend getting it out of the way before you get too tired 🥱.

If you’re prone to skipping skincare once you’re tired, do your routine early. Even if you shorten the routine, cleansing and moisturizing makes an impact.
Taking time to wash your face, even if you don’t wear makeup, cleans bacteria from your skin caused by touching your face and sweat. When skin is cleansed and left bare, researchers say any existing moisturize evaporates out of it. This can lead to dry skin build up and a dull complexion. Using the right moisturizer for your skin at night helps to hydrate while you sleep. Dermatologists say our skin is more permeable at night, meaning the ingredients in your moisturizer can absorb deeper.
If you wait until just before bed to apply skincare, give yourself at least 10 minutes to let your products penetrate before putting your head on the pillow. If your skincare isn’t absorbed, it will end up on your pillowcase, and nobody has time for that!
