Wearing Perfume to Bed: Tip of the Day 8-30-22
One of my favorite self care practices is wearing perfume to bed. Something about it makes me feel Beautiful with a capital B. Turns out, there’s some science behind it.
Some of the top scents recommended for wearing to bed include vanilla, lavender, sandalwood, juniper, bergamot, and citrus. These scents have been shown to help people feel at ease, and drift off to sleep. Scents like jasmine and lavender are known for their calming properties and can help you fall asleep faster and have a deeper, better quality sleep. Aroma also helps increase serotonin production for that happy feeling, and improves your mood overall from a dopamine release.
My favorite perfume to sleep in is a mixture of fruity and woody aroma. Whatever makes you feel beautiful will do!
*Bonus tip: Wearing the same scent to bed can help train your mind to transition from day to night, creating a bedtime pattern that helps you fall asleep faster.
Next time you’re wanting to treat yourself to a little self love pampering, try wearing a delicious smelling perfume to sleep. It just might turn into your new nightly habit.
