When the Beauty Happens: Tip of the Day 4-14-22
Bedtime is when the beauty happens. If you’re over 30 and not using a night cream, sister, it’s time to get on board.
Don’t underestimate the power of a good night cream. For starters, if you apply night cream there’s a high likelihood that you’ve washed your makeup off. (We stopped going to bed with makeup on in our early twenties, hopefully.) 😉
Your body works hard for you while you sleep. It does it’s best to repair damage that’s been done during the day. Even if you don’t wear makeup, your skin is affected by factors like the sun, wind, pollutants in the air, sweat and oils. Night cream is designed to assist your body while in repair mode. It moisturizes, fights future wrinkles, and deeply penetrates while you sleep without any adverse effects from sun exposure. Why waste the opportunity to add an extra beauty boost to your sleep?
Apply your night cream 10-15 minutes before bed. You could also take advantage of the long period of rest by applying a lip mask to soften and hydrate your lips.
In the same way that beauty building happens when we sleep, a lack of sleep ages us. Sleep deprivation makes skin dehydrated and tired-looking. Dermatologists suggest getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night. But don’t just get sleep. Get that night cream/lip mask beauty sleep, girlfriend.
